JDS and BJP alliance in Karnataka almost final?
Amid lots of speculations on ties between the JDS and the BJP to forge alliance in Karnataka for Lok Sabha elections next year, regional leaders of both parties expressed mixed reactions.
There appears to be some disquiet among a section of JDS MLAs. H.D. Deve Gowda, the head of the Janata Dal Secular (JDS) and former prime minister, said on Sunday that party leader and former chief minister H.D. Kumaraswamy will discuss seat sharing with the BJP leaders and make a decision.
The alliance with the BJP, according to Kumaraswamy, will help to put things right, secure justice for Karnataka, and crush the Congress party's hopes of winning about 24 Lok Sabha seats in Karnataka in the 2024 elections.
Kumaraswamy claimed that both the national parties—the BJP and the Congress party—mete out injustice to Karnataka, particularly in irrigation projects.
